Singapore Discovery Centre

Opened in 1996 by the late President Mr. Ong Teng Cheong, the Singapore Discovery Centre’s main objective has been to promote the Singapore Story through entertainment and interactive activities. With the redevelopment, the Centre embarks on a new journey as a world-class edutainment attraction for Singaporeans and overseas visitors alike.

Spanning a total floor area of 4,500 square metres, the new Singapore Discovery Centre consists of 5 main galleries around 8 different themes. Guests will be able to immerse themselves in Singapore’s past, present and future, travelling through time to key moments in our nationhood and experiencing them “as they happen”.

The new Centre is designed by Ralph Appelbaum Associates (RAA), the world’s largest interpretive museum design firm behind famous institutions such as the United States’ Holocaust Memorial Museum and Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C., as well as Taiwan’s National Science and Technology Museum.

One of the many highlights is the world’s first and largest team-based interactive “design studio”. Regarded as the jewel piece of Singapore Discovery Centre, the Visionarium is a gigantic globe and has a 360-degree wrap around screen inside. In each session, up to 120 people can make creative choices to turn Singapore into one of the best cities in the world to live, work and play in. The final design is presented on the wrap around screen.

Las Vegas

Las Vegas in Nevada is known all over the world as Sin City and the "Entertainment Capital of the World." Sure enough, Las Vegas is one of the few places where gambling is legal in the United States, and sure enough, casinos stand side-by-side along The Strip, luring passersby to flirt with Lady Luck at the tables at the slots machines.

Despite this image that Las Vegas has, the city is still a place that can be enjoyed by the entire family, even the small children.
Here are four places in Las Vegas that kids will definitely enjoy seeing.

Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay

Just a short walking distance from Mandalay Bay’s casino is the Shark Reef Aquarium, where anyone can get in close proximity with a shark and even touch the tank where the sharks are in. The Shark Reef is home to close to 1,200 species of marine life, which includes not just sharks but also manta rays, reptiles, fish and many other species. There are twelve species of sharks alone.

The Shark Reef is also the first public aquarium to put on display a Great Hammerhead Shark, a female that was caught by accident in Florida. She was put on display for a year before she died

San Francisco

The city of San Francisco in California is a beautiful city that is famous all over the world for the rolling fog that suddenly sweeps the bay even during summer; the numerous, steep hills that give the city character and make driving tricky in certain areas; the Golden Gate Bridge; the cable cars; and its diverse population with their cosmopolitan lifestyle and colorful cultural backgrounds.

San Francisco has a life and air that cannot be found anywhere else. Just like what the song written about it says, it is easy to leave your heart in San Francisco, and you will always long to come and take it back.

If you were to visit San Francisco on a long weekend, what landmarks should you see? Here are five famous landmarks that you should see on your trip to San Francisco.

The Golden Gate Bridge

Any visit to San Francisco must include the Golden Gate Bridge. This suspension bridge that connects the city to the county of Marin across the Golden Gate is the icon that is most associated with San Francisco. People who do not have a fear of heights will find walking across the bridge to be a very interesting experience. The sights upon the bridge are breathtaking, especially when the fog comes rolling in.

Brooklyn Botanic Garden

In the heart of Brooklyn, a borough in the City of New York, one can find the oasis known as the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. Established in 1910, the Brooklyn Botanic Garden is a 52-acre sprawl of land that is home to some 10,000 species of plants and trees.
The Brooklyn Botanic Garden attracts some 700,000 visitors every year, the visitors keen on discovering nature and plant life, gathering tips for their own gardens at home, or just looking forward to a tranquil moment amidst the chaos that is everyday life in a city as bustling as New York City.

Barcelona Spain

Sometimes it is hard to believe that Barcelona is not the capital of Spain. While Madrid reigns supreme as this Iberian country’s capital, Barcelona holds its own as one of Spain’s Mediterranean jewels. This second largest city in all of Spain, as well as the most important Spanish seaport on the Mediterranean Sea, has a life, beauty and vibrance that is uniquely its own.

Barcelona is an ancient, beautiful city. Its history traces its roots from the Roman Empire, and later Gothic and Moorish conquests have also left their marks in the city. But while Barcelona is ancient, it is also a very cosmopolitan city that fully embraces the new, while at the same time protecting its old treasures

To visit Barcelona is an experience. There are so many places to see and things to do in the city and its outskirts that it will definitely take more than an extended holiday to take in fully what Barcelona has to offer. It is a guarantee that Barcelona has something new to give the visitors to the city that have been there before.
